Jeremy Walsh is a seasoned musician and veteran performer of 20 years in the Canadian folk music scene.
His career canopy arcs from Ireland to Newfoundland to West Coast inspiration and innovation on Vancouver Island, B.C.
A modern, Celtic/Folk/Roots singer/songwriter, Jeremy’s driving rhythm guitar and gut-driven troubadour voice carry the traditions from whence they spring.
Growing organically from past incarnations as Scruj Macduhk and his own acclaimed Jeremy Walsh Band, recent collaborators include Victoria’s fiddle emissaries Calvin Cairns, Ivonne Hernandez, and Victoria’s own traditional Irish/Celtic ensemble, “Crikey Mor”.
I've had a chance to play hundreds of different performances with highlights that include weekly sessions in Ireland’s traditional music mecca of Galway, National Canadian and U.S. tours with award winning Appalachian/Celtic folk fusion band, “Scruj Macduhk” , a wild couple years touring Western Canada with "The Jeremy Walsh Band", shows with Daniel Lapp and the Victoria Symphony, MC for Victoria’s Canada Day celebration on Parliament lawns, unforgettable tours of Hawaii and the Eastern U.S. with fiddle virtuoso, Ivonne Hernandez and a BC tour as the guitarist for Oliver Swain’s Big Machine in the summer of 2015.
Most recently I've had a house gig at The Irish Times in Victoria with Calvin Cairns and my Irish band, "Crikey Mor" has been playing the festival circuit on Vancouver Island and the lower mainland of BC.
